Credit card companies, telephone companies, utility companies and even the United States Postal Service are offering online bill payment options to their customers. Why? Online bill payment is easy, convenient, fast and secure. You can pay anyone, anywhere in just a matter of minutes.

According to research, the average consumer spends about two hours each month paying bills. In today's complex, fast-paced world where simple and convenient is always better, streamlined methods of bill payment are essential to improve the daily lives of consumers. An estimated 40 million American households currently pay bills online because it eliminates the time-management problems most individuals face.

Paying bills online is just a matter of switching from pen and paper checks to issuing payment instructions using your computer. WFEC's secure socket layer software (SSL) is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all personal information so that it cannot be read as it travels over the Internet. To sign up to pay your WFEC bill online, simply call the Internet Services Department in any of WFEC's district offices. You will then receive a password, which needs to be changed at another time. Log onto www.wfeca.net and click on the "Pay Your Bill Option" under the Services menu. Once you are logged in, you may access online statements, change your account profile, and pay your bill online. There are two payment options available for your convenience, by credit card or e-check. Credit card and e-check information may be stored safely for future use. When entering credit card and e-check information, please make sure all information is accurate. Pay close attention to your bank account and routing numbers when issuing e-checks. Also make sure that you receive confirmation once the payment has been made. All online payments are handled by a third party, payment processor, Southeastern Data Cooperative. The payment site is operated and maintained independently of West Florida Electric Cooperative. After confirmation of the payment, Southeastern Data Cooperative will automatically post the payment to your account at WFEC. The payee on your financial statement for this transaction will be listed as "SEDC Utility Payment."
