Long-time WFEC lineman dies

West Florida Electric Cooperative’s employees and the Graceville community mourn the recent loss of one of their own. Donald "Don" Curtis Sizemore, employed 33 years at WFEC, died Oct. 5 at age 53.

Don began his career at WFEC in 1971 as a lineman helper, a position later called Class B lineman, then worked his way up to journeyman lineman. He was probably best known to WFEC customers as a friendly, helpful serviceman who worked a route in northwestern Jackson and northeastern Holmes Counties for the last approximately 20 years. He’s also remembered for his sharp sense of humor and steel guitar playing.

Don is survived by his mother, Sarah Grace Sizemore; a daughter, Stephanie Sizemore, of Dothan, Ala.; two sons, Gifford "Giff" Sizemore and wife, Jessica, of Braselton, Ga.., and Billy Curtis Sizemore, of Graceville; two sisters, Betty Ann Boswell, of Smiths, Ala., and Martha Ward, of Walnut Hill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
