Payment made painless
WFEC offers a variety of options for convenience and flexibility
Whether you’re buying a pair of pants or paying for your electricity – One size doesn’t fit all. That’s why West Florida Electric Cooperative offers the following options that let you tailor your account for simple, convenient payment for service :
Prepaid metering -- Want greater flexibility in paying for your electricity or a more accurate idea how much energy your household is using at any given moment? With EZ Pay Power, you can buy electricity on demand. The program works much like pre-paid long distance service, using a magnetic-stripped card that allows you to "pay as you go" for electric service.
EZ Pay Power pre-paid metering lets you to know exactly how much you’ll be spending on electricity, in advance, while providing real-time energy usage information to help you conserve energy. When you enroll in the EZ pay Power program, WFEC will install a specially-designed meter, then plug in an accompanying electronic display module inside your home. After you purchase the amount of electricity you desire, you’ll receive a plastic card, similar to a credit card, that will activate your meter to provide the purchased quantity of electricity when you swipe the card’s magnetic strip through the display module in your home.
When your household’s energy use approaches the prepaid amount, the module’s audible alarm will alert you that it’s time to purchase more electricity. Should the amount of prepaid electricity reach a critically low level during a weekend or after WFEC’s normal weekday business hours, you still can make arrangements to purchase more electricity by phoning WFEC’s 24-hour service center.
EZ Pay Power lets you forego the current deposits and non-refundable charges required for receiving electric service with a regular meter. Instead, with EZ Pay Power, you’ll pay only a $50 refundable deposit and $5 monthly lease fee for equipment, plus a $2 per transaction fee on electricity purchases. WFEC will issue one permanent card for each account, but additional cards are available for $3 each.Collection points – Pay your WFEC bill on or before the due date at Regions Bank in Blountstown, Chipley and both Marianna locations; The Bank in Blountstown and Altha; or People’s Community Bank, or PCB, in Marianna, Greenwood and Malone – even if you aren’t a bank customer.
Bank draft – Your payment can be automatically transferred from your bank to WFEC on a specified date. The funds will be transferred in the same way the federal government can automatically deposit a Social Security check into a recipient’s bank account. When you enroll in WFEC’s bank draft plan, you’ll need to provide a deposit slip for the bank account from which funds will be transferred.
Levelized billing – The amount of your electric bill can be the same month after month, even throughout peak cooling and heating periods. After one year of service, WFEC can base your monthly charges on an average of your previous 12 months’ actual energy use for your home, plus the fee for any additional item, such as a security light. Levelized billing combined with bank draft payment is an excellent option for frequent travelers or seasonal residents.
Credit card payments – WFEC accepts all the major cards, so you can pay over the telephone or the Internet.
Online payment – Log on to WFEC’s Web site at www.wfeca.net.
Double notification – At your request, WFEC will notify a third party, such as a landlord or caregiver, when an account is delinquent.
