Baptist College adds apartments
West Florida Electric Cooperative is preparing to provide electric service to a new apartment complex to be built in Graceville. The Baptist College of Florida recently broke ground for College Square Apartments beside the Heritage Village on Sanders Avenue, directly across from the BCF campus. A host of dignitaries, including WFEC CEO Bill Rimes, participated in the groundbreaking ceremonies, and WFEC linemen have been relocating several spans of power line in the area.
The U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program has financed the facility’s construction with two loans totaling $1,359,937. The complex will provide eight one-bedroom, 16 two-bedroom and eight three-bedroom units for low- and moderate-income families.
"We are delighted to see the College Square Apartment project actually under construction," said BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen. "This has been a long process that will ultimately provide the community with much-needed, high-quality housing."
"Throughout the process, West Florida Electric has been vitally involved," he added. "This is another example of their commitment to a better quality of life for the citizens of our community."
