WFEC celebrates summer with sizzling savings on broadband

Surf’s up, northwest Florida, as West Florida Electric Cooperative’s 100 Days of Summer features a sizzling offer on DiRECWAY satellite Internet service. Through August 22, save $100 on the installation of a DiRECWAY system and get high-speed Internet service with an "always on" connection that doesn’t use a phone line -- no dial-ups, no busy signals and no disconnects.

With DiRECWAY, your phone line stays free, so you can talk while online, without the extra cost of a second phone line. The high-speed connection lets you enjoy live webcasts, video clips and music files, smoothly and clearly, without having to wait for them to download.

DiRECWAY provides fast, reliable broadband Internet service wherever you live – even in remote areas without access to DSL or cable Internet service. WFEC offers DiRECWAY to subscribers who receive their electricity from other utilities, as well.

WFEC recently promoted the 100 Days of Summer, DiRECWAY and wfeca.net, the Co-op’s dial-up Internet service, during a live remote radio broadcast by Sunny 98.5 FM from Radio Shack in Blountstown. Throughout the event, Blountstown residents stopped by for refreshments, promotional gifts and information about WFEC's Internet services, while morning radio show hosts Eric and Meg kept the scene lively.

WFEC chose Blountstown for the site of the broadcast to emphasize DiRECWAY’s availability to areas previously without access to high-speed Internet service. Also, WFEC recently added a point of presence, or POP, in Blountstown to make local dial-up Internet service available in that area; Radio Shack in Blountstown serves as a sign-up point where area residents can subscribe to WFEC’s Internet service.
