WFEC Shows Appreciation
West Florida Electric Association recently held its annual Christmas Banquet and awards ceremony for employees. Serving member-owners is a priority for every employee at WFEC, whether working in engineering and operations, construction, finance and administration, or member services. WFEC’s employees presented awards to co-workers at this annual event held on Dec. 8. Ronnie Gilley, a journeyman in the Bonifay District office took home the top honor as WFEC Employee of the Year. Gilley was chosen to receive this honor by his peers at WFEC because they felt he best exemplified the following traits: personality, punctuality, safety habits, team work, flexibility, and performance on the job. Gilley has worked at WFEC since 1981 and is currently a journeyman line worker whose duties include powerline construction and maintenance. Outstanding Service Awards were also presented to employees from each of WFEC’s district offices. Elected by their fellow employees were: Gene Atwell, in the Graceville office, Rick Hodge, in the Bonifay District office and Terrell Culbreth in the Sneads district. Faye Peel, a WFEC contract employee, received an Outstanding Service Award as well. The following employees were honored for their years of service at WFEC: 30 years - Doyle Short, Linda Spencer and Sandra Bowers 25 years - Donnie Worley, Jerry West and James Quattlebaum 20 years - Rick Carnley, Dennis Culbreth and Pam Treadwell 15 years - Gary Clark, Donald Roulhac and Robin Baggett 10 years - Roger Evans and Chad Mitchell 5 years - Darrell Creel and Helen Davis Board of Trustees, District 3 member, John Patrick was also honored for five years of continuous service to WFEC’s members. Employees receving recognition for perfect attendance in 2005 were Debra Kamke, Gil Perea, Steve Roark, Mae Shouppe, Freddy Wood, Donnie Worley, Mike Birge, David Brannon, Greg Calloway, David Davis, Donald Hatcher, Donald Roulhac, Doyle Short, Richard Whitaker, Jr. Willis and Penny Hagan. |
