Brannon wins highest WFEC employee honor
Whether working in operations and construction, finance and administration or member services, each West Florida Electric Cooperative employee is dedicated to serving you, the member-owner. Recently, WFEC’s employees presented awards to co-workers they felt deserved recognition for demonstrating strong commitment to service through their exemplary job performance, team work, personality, punctuality, flexibility and safety habits.
Earning the highest award, David Brannon was named Employee of the Year by his peers. He began his career at WFEC as a tree trimmer in 1983 and is now a journeyman line worker. In addition to his day-to-day duties in powerline construction and maintenance, he assists in presenting electrical safety programs at area schools and participates in community activities such as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
WFEC’s employees also chose Outstanding Service Award recipients from each of the Co-op’s three district offices. Elected were Steve Roark in the Graceville district, Peggy Kirk in the Bonifay district and Bob Cummings in the Sneads district. Among the contract personnel at WFEC, Jenny Henderson received an Outstanding Service Award, as well.

15 years – Mike Birge, Apprentice Line Worker; Rhonda Byrd, Member Services Manager; David Davis, Right of Way Crew Leader; Tony Day, Apprentice Line Worker; Robin Faircloth, Journeyman Line Worker; Theo Hobbs, Tree Trimmer; Will Melton, Journeyman Line Worker; Willie Olds, Meter Reader; Randy Weeks, Line Crew Leader; Richard Whitaker, Right of Way Crew Leader
10 years – Susie Johnson, Executive Assistant
The following trustees were honored for their continuous years of service:
20 years – John Worthington, Board President and District 6 Trustee
Receiving recognition for perfect attendance in 2003 were Debra Kamke, Steve Roark, Freddy Wood, Mike Birge, Rick Carnley, Darrell Creel, David Davis, Donald Hatcher, James Quattlebaum, David Register, Doyle Short, Richard Whitaker, Junior Willis, Donnie Worley, Penny Hagan and Patty Grantham.
