Go Red For Women

Seeing Red? 6376201

You may have noticed your friends and coworkers wearing a little extra red earlier this month. Some men were even spotted sporting little red dresses! That is because February 3, 2006 was national Go Red for Women Day. The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women is a nationwide movement to raise awareness that heart disease is a woman’s No. 1 killer. The campaign, part of heart month, provides women with tips and information on healthy eating, exercise and risk factor reduction, such as smoking cessation, weight maintenance, blood pressure control and blood cholesterol management. The red dress pin is the symbol for the campaign. Free pins, as well as a wealth of information about health and heart disease prevention are available on the American Heart Association’s website www.americanheart.org.
