DirecPC is now DirecWay, and West Florida Electric Cooperative is installing it. The sky literally is the limit with DirecWay Internet service via two-way satellite for residential, home office and small business use. This new technology lets you experience truly unlimited Internet access without phone lines – no dialing, no waiting to connect, no busy signals, no disconnects.
With DirecWay’s downlink speeds of up to 400 kbps, you can download videos and software in mere seconds. You’ll feel like you’re seeing or hearing an event in person when you stream video without uneven, jerky motion, delays, sync problems or low resolution and listen to audio files or Internet radio without all the usual snapping or crackling, The high-speed Internet connection you get with DirecWay opens a new world of information and entertainment on the Web – Catch the latest movie trailers, watch a concert, play the latest video games, watch hard-to-find classic TV shows, you name it – all on your computer.
DirecWay also offers uplink speeds of up to 128 kbps, nationwide access and, with additional hardware or software, multiple user capability. The system can be upgraded for DirecTV programming, as well.
The purchase price of the DirecWay equipment is $499, plus $200 for standard installation. Financing and lease options are available.
DirecWay programming is $69.99 per month for residential users and $99.99 per month for commercial subscribers. Both types of subscriptions require a two-year minimum commitment.
