WFEC will celebrate the strength of cooperative membership
West Florida Electric Cooperative member-owners will gather to meet, greet, eat, win prizes and more at the Co-op’s 68th Annual Meeting/Member Appreciation Day. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Sat., April 9 at the Graceville Civic Center, located at 5224 Brown Street, or Hwy. 77, in Graceville, Fla., the event will celebrate One Powerful Voice, the strength of cooperative member-owners united.
Activities on site will include displays and children’s activities, as well as Southern gospel music by Fresh Anointing, of Andalusia, Ala. Fresh Anointing has worked with gospel music industry leaders such as the Crabb Family, Gold City, Jeff and Sherri Easter, Brian Free and Assurance, the Nelons and the Issacs and has appeared at the Bonifay All-Night Sing and on the Lady Anderson Gospel Music Dinner Cruise in Panama City, Fla. The group comprises group founded David Wiggins, along with Michael Frank, Casey Williams, Stacey Frank and Matthew Lloyd. Their performance at WFEC’s annual Meeting will feature a special appearance by Wiggins’ 11-year-old daughter, Robynn.
During the meeting, WFEC President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Rimes will report on WFEC’s recent efforts and achievements, electric utility-related issues and other topics of interest. Afterward, members will have a chance to win prizes such as electric grills, small appliances or $100 cash. In addition, those who returned the registration cards from their WFEC trustee elections packets before March 31 will be eligible to win a 3 kw portable generator. Each member will receive a choice of complimentary gifts upon registration at the meeting, as well.
At the meeting’s close, a representative of McDaniel and Associates, the certified public accounting firm that collects and tabulates WFEC’s mail ballots, will announce the results of the trustee election in District 4, the only contested seat on WFEC’s board. Outside, Sonny’s Barbeque will serve complementary barbeque sandwiches. The Bethlehem School Cheerleaders will provide soft drinks throughout the morning.
