St. Paul’s Rice

Akara

1 lb. bulk sausage

1 medium onion, chopped

1 bell pepper, chopped

3 stalks celery, chopped

4 1/2 cups water

1 cup rice, uncooked

2 envelopes Lipton

chicken noodle soup mix

1 can cream of chicken soup

Salt to taste (very little needed, if any)

Paprika

Slivered almonds

Cook sausage until crumbly (pink gone) and set aside. Bring water to a boil; add rice and soup mix. Reduce heat and cook until rice is tender (some liquid will remain). Mix all ingredients and pour into a 9" x 13" baking pan. Sprinkle with paprika and almonds. Bake 35 minutes at 350°.
