WFEC annual meeting will celebrate foundations, honor heroes
Much in the world has changed since West Florida Electric Cooperative’s members last gathered for an annual meeting in November 2000. Still, certain essentials of our lives have remained constant — the fellowship of families and friends, our hope for a bright future, our common bond as members of a community and the shared strength we gain from standing together as a nation.
These fundamentals will be the focus of WFEC’s 2002 Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Day, a celebration of
Courage, Sacrifice, Patriotism — A Call to Service. This year’s event, Saturday, April 27, starting at 8:30 a. m. at the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, promises to be among the most meaningful and memorable the Co-op has held.
The festivities, which commemorate WFEC’s sixty-fifth anniversary, will feature a ceremony honoring our community’s heroes, as well as a report from WFEC Executive Vice President and CEO William S. "Bill" Rimes.

The Millers, a gospel bluegrass trio from Wausau, Fla., will entertain throughout the morning, so the annual meeting attendees will have a chance to stomp their feet while they meet and greet. The opportunity for WFEC’s members to visit with each other is always one of the most-enjoyed aspects of the event.

Other annual meeting attractions will include a close-up look at a Jackson County Sheriff’s Department helicopter, a vintage car display, a complimentary light lunch, children’s activities, informative displays, free gifts and drawings for prizes, including a Gillette Power Pro three kilowatt Honda-powered generator.
At the meeting’s close, a representative of McDaniel and Associates, the certified public accounting firm that collects and tabulates WFEC’s mail ballots, will announce the results of the Co-op’s District 4, 5 and 6 trustee elections.
See you April 27!
